Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year was not as expected. Actually nothing but some Dragon and Lion dances were going on in KL. David's office was closed Monday and Tuesday. Alot of the retail stores were closed and everything in China Town was closed for four days. There was no traffic and it was basically dead around here. We were shopping Sunday in China Town and the owner of the store told us that most everyone went out of town so all the celebrations must have been somewhere else. He said people went to Singapore and Panang Island. Joyce who works in David's office went to East Malaysia. She was telling him what all she would be doing there for four days. There were fireworks but none that we could see. We were actually pretty excited that there was not alot of noise or traffic for a few days.
Chinese New Year
The fruit (tangerines) you see is given to everyone during Chinese New Year. David said they had vendors bring boxes in to the office and I was even given some when I was out shopping. At the Dragon and Lion dances it was given out also.
Central Market
This is the entrance to Central Market. There are all types of shops in this place. This is where you can find all the "local stuff" to take home.
