Bata Caves

Bata Caves,,, what can I say.  This is a very interesting place if you just feel the urge the climb 272 steps which go up the side of a mountain.  When you finally make it to the top there is a temple inside the cave.  I am sure it is beautiful but I will just have to take David's word.  He did make the mistake and climbed the steps and could hardly walk the next three days.  You will notice in the pictures that there are ALOT of monkeys.  They are not nice monkeys either.  You are warned that if you have food showing where a monkey can see it they will go after the food.  They will jump on you and do whatever it takes to get the food.  When we left this place I handed out antibacterial wipes.

Food Stalls for Ramadan

Zam, our driver, took us to some food stalls that are only set up once a year during Ramadan.  The locals cook the food and people come and purchase the food from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  They take the food home and at 7:30 pm they can eat. During Ramadan they can only eat or drink before before the sun comes up and after it goes down.   This was very interesting but we did not purchase anything. David, Tommy and Martha were brave and tried a few things but not me.

Youth Rally

There was a Youth Rally at the Mall one Saturday. There were bands from the different schools performing.  The Prime Minister came and made an appearance.
