The world's most expensive coffee. Kopi Luwak or civet coffee, refers to the beans of coffee berries once they have been eaten and excreted by the Asian palm civet. Yes you read that correct, we are drinking coffee made from berries that an animal pooped. Although kopi luwak is a form of processing rather than a variety of coffee, it has been called the most expensive coffee in the world with retail prices reaching $700 per kilogram. Kopi luwak is produced mainly on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesia Archipelago. We did not buy this in case you were wondering and the coffee was wonderful.
